Opt for a white farmhouse sink, always! And The English Tapware Company for a bridge faucet if budget permits (you won’t regret it)!
Bench height is a thing and does make a huge difference to the liveability. For tall people (like us Hobbs’) we know from first-hand experience that you can push to 950mm bench height without an issue (anything higher does look n’ feel out of place).
Minimise cuts and joins in your benchtop (stone or timber, work to slab lengths and widths, and always try your best to run the stone from the kitchen into the outdoor area where possible (i.e. via a gas strut window).
Think about the size of special cutlery inserts now, and design your draws accordingly (i.e. Ikea bamboo inserts are fab).
Integrate your work-horse appliances where possible, such as dishwashers and microwaves or hide them in a walk-in pantry. Freestanding gas ovens are always a show stopper (we adore Falcon, Aga, ILve).
Custom your undermount range hood (Qasair) with moulded cabinetry and timber accents.
White on white cabinetry is a winner but bold colour creates the wow factor Be brave or two-tone at the bear minimum! Don’t be shy to seek a sample 2pac piece before committing.
Details, details, details. Floating timber shelves, American arm pendant lights, bin draws and USB powerpoints shouldn’t be overlooked.
The next hot-to-trot thing is pot fillers (trust me); they are aesthetically pleasing and very functional so get on board.
Symmetrical design is classic and try and incorporate overheads where possible in this fashion.
