Team culture is so important to us at Hobbs Building & Interiors. Creating energetic environments filled with positive vibes, happy clients team members is crucial in our overall project success!
Are you a Leading Hand looking to make an eco-friendly stance?
Are you ready to make an impact with a multi-award winning, innovative construction firm specialising in eco-friendly residential homes within the Scenic Rim?
At Hobbs Building & Interiors (Hobbs) we do things differently! Such as fully off grid builds, construct on sloping sites, regularly use TRUECORE steel framing and have a passion for sustainable products (oh, and interior design with our inaugural homewares collection)!
Excitedly, for the first time in Hobbs history, we’re swinging opening our site-gates to attract an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our family team.
We believe this unique role is suited to a passionate Carpenter looking to progress their skills and construction career as either a Project Manager, Low-rise Builder or similar (with a minimum of three-years trade Carpentry experience).

The role in a nutshell
The successful candidate will work directly alongside Builder Luke Hobbs (MBQ Rising Star 2019) as well as our hand-selected Showroom & onsite staff, plus subcontractors & suppliers; and of course interact regularly with our valued clients.
The experienced and capable Leading Hand will assist with the day-to-day execution of our residential new build and renovation projects (maximum of two sites at any one time) and provide assistance executing the Hobbs proactive 12-months customer care maintenance program; as we regard exceptional after sales service a key priority!
Carpentry work, meaning “on the tools” will still be required, including (but not limited to) bespoke projects, plus fix out, framing (steel & timber) and cladding installations.
A positive team-player attitude is essential (but maybe not the competitive Michael Jordan kind), plus effective verbal and written communication via our sophisticated cloud-based software system (Buildertrend). You can’t be afraid of technology (or learning)!
Does this sound like you?
Bonus, we also offer an ongoing professional and personal career development program whereby we nurture our staff and their long-term career aspirations.
Pending the right candidate’s aspirations, we are willing to also offer mentoring by Directors Luke and Nikki Hobbs (i.e. Site Supervisors license and/or Cert IV Building & Construction).
