Nourish – Margarita’s with Christmas Creek Produce

Scenic Rim Eat Local Week is just around the corner, so let’s eat, drink and celebrate the beauty and abundance of our local regional producers (and the excellent and most delicious food that comes along with them, can you tell we are all about the food).

And who would have thought that our previous Nourish recipe of Luke’s Honey Chicken (find it here) would have been so popular? So we are picking his brain again this month with another of his specialities, a spicy margarita 🍸.

Luke’s Spicy Margarita’s w Christmas Creek Produce and Limes 4 U

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lime (halved)
  • 45ml tequila
  • 30ml cointreau (triple sec)
  • 45ml fresh lime juice
  • CC Produce Chilli Salt flakes

Method


Step 1 – Salt the rim of your glass (we think this is a MUST do). Take a wedge of lime and cut an incision in the flesh (not as offensive as it sounds) and run it around the rim of your glass. Tip your glass upside down and twist it in the salt until covered with the Christmas Creek Chilli Salt flakes. Wet the rim of your glass with a piece of your Limes4U Beechmont grown lime and dip it into your Christmas Creek Produce Chilli Salt Flakes.

Step 2 – Fill your cocktail shaker/thermomix/blender with ⅔ ice cubes, then add your alcohol and lime juice.

Step 3 – Shake it, shake it good or blend that machine to make a slushie type blend.
